Frequently Asked Question's

Solar energy is the energy from the sun that can be converted into electricity or heat. Solar panels work by using photovoltaic (PV) cells that absorb sunlight and convert it into direct current (DC) electricity. An inverter then converts this into alternating current (AC), which powers homes, businesses, or the grid.

There are many advantages of going Solar, here are a few:

Cost Savings – Reduces electricity bills over time.

Renewable Energy – Solar power is abundant and sustainable.

Low Maintenance – Requires minimal upkeep.

Eco-Friendly – Reduces carbon footprint and pollution.

Energy Independence – Reduces reliance on the grid and fossil fuels.

Government Incentives – Many countries offer subsidies and tax benefits

Daytime Operation – Solar panels generate electricity when exposed to sunlight.

Cloudy or Rainy Days – They still work but at reduced efficiency (typically 10-25% of peak output).

Nighttime – Solar panels do not generate electricity at night. However, solar batteries can store excess energy for nighttime use.

Space Requirement – About 100 sq. ft. per kW (varies by panel efficiency). A typical 5 kW system needs around 500 sq. ft.

Installation Options – Rooftops, ground-mounted systems, carports, or building-integrated PV.

Roof Suitability – Most roofs can support solar panels, but flat, metal, and tiled roofs are best. Some fragile materials (like asbestos or certain clay tiles) may not be ideal without reinforcement.

Payback Period – Typically 4-8 years, depending on electricity rates and solar system costs.

Government Incentives – Many governments offer:

Subsidies (e.g., 20-40% on residential systems in India)

Tax Benefits (e.g., accelerated depreciation for businesses)

Net Metering (selling excess power back to the grid)

  • Lifespan25-30 years with gradual efficiency decline (~0.5% per year).
  • Maintenance – Minimal, mainly cleaning and occasional inspection.

How to Maintain?

  • Clean panels every 2-3 months (more in dusty areas).
  • Check for shading from trees or buildings.
  • Inspect wiring and inverter for any issues.
  • Professional servicing every few years for optimal performance
