PM KUSUM Component - A
Scheme in Telangana State

The Government of Telangana, in line with the MNRE, Government of India’s initiative, is taking up to implement the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) Scheme in the state of Telangana for the benefit of the farmers and other eligible beneficiaries.

This ambitious scheme aims to provide energy and also provide opportunity to increase farmers’ income by promoting the use of solar energy.

Objectives:

  • To promote decentralized renewable energy to agriculture sector by setting up solar power plants and solarizing agricultural pumps
  • To enhance farmers’ income, de-dieselize the farm sector, and to reduce environmental pollution.
  •  Component – A: setting up of 10,000 MW of Decentralized Ground / stilt Mounted Grid Connected solar (or) other Renewable based power plants setting up of plants from 500 kW to 2 MW will be set up. PPA will be with DISCOM.

Under PM KUSUM Component-A, Government of Telangana aims to set up 4000 MW Decentralized Ground Mounted Grid Connected Solar Power Plants ranging from 500 kW to 2 MW on barren/uncultivable and agriculture land falling within a radius of 5 KM from 33/11 KV Substations in Telangana.

The Telangana Renewable Energy Development Corporation Ltd. (TGREDCO) has been nominated as the implementing agency for the PM KUSUM Scheme in Telangana.

TGREDCO invites applications for individual Farmers/Group of Farmers/ Cooperatives/ Panchayats/ Farmer Producer Organisations (FPO)/ Water User Association/ Self Help Groups (SHGs) or their federations (Village Organisation VO)) & Mandal Samakhyas or through developers to set up Grid Connected Solar Power Plant in their own/lease lands under PM KUSUM Component A Scheme.

The solar power generated will be purchased by DISCOMs at the prefixed tariff determined by TGERC for Component A for a period of 25 Years.
