SunWorks Energy Private Limited collaborated with SRK Destiny, a popular commercial destination located at SRK Destiny, to bring sustainable energy solutions to a high-footfall retail environment. With rising energy demands in the commercial sector, SRK aimed to reduce electricity costs and demonstrate environmental responsibility by switching to solar.
Engineering Around Urban Infrastructure
- Rooftop Space Management : Designing a compact yet efficient 72 kWp system amidst various HVAC units and structural limitations.
- Urban Shadowing: Mitigating energy loss caused by surrounding buildings and rooftop structures.
- Raised Rooftop Structural Design: Designing an elevated mounting system to maximize usable space and allow airflow beneath panels.
Our Solution:
SunWorks Energy deployed a raised rooftop structured solar system tailored for SRK’s commercial setup. This approach allowed better space utilization and minimized shading impacts from rooftop equipment. Smart layout planning, efficient elevation, and real-time monitoring were key to ensuring maximum performance. The project was executed during non-peak hours, ensuring uninterrupted mall operations.
Client Benefits :
- Cost Reduction: The mall has generated over 562,090 kWh (*as of 2023), reducing electricity bills and boosting financial efficiency.
- Energy Security: With an estimated annual yield of 684.864 MWh, SRK now enjoys greater energy stability during business hours.
- Optimized Rooftop Usage: The raised structure ensures free space below the panels, maintaining functionality and enhancing aesthetics.
Environment Impact:
- CO₂ Offset: Approx. 393.46 tonnes of CO₂ emissions reduced annually.
- Trees Saved Equivalent: Matches the impact of planting 10,088 trees every year.
- Fuel Savings: Cuts usage by an estimated 167,615 liters of fuel annually. (*as of 2023)
